The Star is a Grade II listed building with 60’s block and to the rear with extensions and add ons throughout the years.

J H Payne's contract was to refurb 18 rooms and 4 suites within the 60’s block.

We took down the extension of the office toilet and bedroom to create outside courtyard, which involved forming new corridor within the existing building, re-forming the store room and creating new toilets.

We had to restore all the beams to rostrum and bars as they had been painted black and needed to be restored as original.

This project ws recently awarded the prestigious Commercial Award in the Sussex Heritage Trust awards 2022
